How our Church is run

Our church members share in the organisation of every aspect of the church’s work.  We have two elected bodies that are responsible for managing the church, alongside our minister and other staff.

Session has the spiritual oversight of the congregation and as Trustees under Charities Commission are also responsible for the financial aspects of church life. Church Committee have responsibility for the upkeep of the building as well as other areas of how the church is run. In Presbyterianism the elders are ex-officio members of Committee so the two bodies work together for the kingdom of God in Orangefield and the world beyond.

Both Session and the Committee have a series of ‘Ministry Areas’ and ‘Sub-Groups’ which look after specific areas covering everything from prayer to finance
