Orangefield Presbyterian Church

ALpHA

We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions, and share their point of view.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of relaxed interactive sessions exploring Christian faith.Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome. It normally runs online, in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it.  30 million people globally have tried Alpha and it is designed primarily for people who wouldn't call themselves Christians.

Alpha @ Orangefield

We’ve been running Alpha for many years and have seen many people being blessed and coming to faith as a result of the relaxed nature of this course.  It’s informal and gives you the freedom to ask those questions you may have been afraid to ask for many years.

We will be running Alpha in 2 locations in January:

  • Arc Cafe, Orangefield Presbyterian Church - starting on  Tuesday 16th January
  • Oak Community Centre, 14-16 Knockwood Park, Belfast. Bt5 6GA  -  starting on Wed 17th January

If you would like more info on Alpha please contact the church office:  office@orangefield.org.uk.

What Does Alpha look like?

No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: connect, watch and discuss.

Connect

All sessions start with a time to connect, relax and build friendships over a cup of Coffee.

Watch

The episodes unpack the basics of the Christian faith, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus?, How can we have faith? and How does God guide us?

Discuss

One of the most important parts of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and discuss in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
